The Paint, Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the paint team to ensure production goals for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency are met.
Wage:
$20+/hr based on experience What Will You Do? Leads and promotes a culture focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM), as well as adherence to 5S standards within the assigned team. Understands and coaches team members on company policies, standard work, and safety requirements. Assigns work duties to team members based on current operational needs and available resources. Assigns tasks to facilitators, including filling open roles, coordinating training and cross-training, and supporting safety, quality, and productivity initiatives. Escalates issues related to safety, performance, or quality as appropriate; Leads do not issue disciplinary action. Collaborate with Materials and Utilities departments to ensure materials are available as needed to support production flow. Maintains and reports on Day-by-Hour Boards (Tier 2) to track performance and progress Conducts daily Tier 1 meetings with the team to review goals, metrics, and performance. Partners with team members and management to identify and address concerns or improvement opportunities. Works collaboratively with the team to identify actions to improve SQDCM metrics and ensure timely execution or escalation. General computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate Windows systems, email, Microsoft office, and SAP system. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership in support of departmental and organizational objectives. What Do You Need? High school diploma or GED. Prior experience as a Paint Associate III, or equivalent in role outside of Toro Read/comprehend procedures, operator and safety manuals, etc. Communicate in writing (inspection reports, work requests) Demonstrates the ability to consistently follow and uphold Toro's policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and core values. Serves as a role model for professional behavior and promotes a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment. Demonstrated general computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate Windows systems, utilize email, and work effectively with Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in basic mathematical operations with the ability to use measuring instruments and accurately calculate percentages, ratios, and production run rates. Ability to foster a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, discipline, and a shared drive for success. Willingness and capability to learn, teach, coach, and hold self and others accountable to team goals, processes, and standard work. Strong sense of ownership, empowerment, and responsibility for the daily operations and success of the team. Demonstrates a problem-solving approach with a focus on process improvement. Troubleshoot and resolve more complex issues with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills in working with a variety of cross-functional teams.
