  • 4:30 PM), then will move to the 2nd shift (4:45pm to 3:15am Mon-Thurs) and receive a $1.
00 per hour shift differential. Overtime opportunities on Fridays. Benefits start day one! This person will lead our locomotive freight valve repair/servicing production line (disassembly, washing, reassembling, programming, testing, etc.) and train where needed to ensure we are meeting our production goals. Ideally we would love this person to grow into a Supervisor role. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices. Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes. Must oversee OTJ training for all new cell employees. Instruct cell employees on work instruction, proper use of all tools and equipment. Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues. Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel. Work closely with Production Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure rates and goals are met, issues reported and resolved. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations. Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree. Skills and Competencies Technical Capacity Proficient in skills for levels 1, 2, and 3 Must have good mechanical skills. Must be able to multitask. Knowledge/understanding of best practices and theory. Communication Proficiency Organization Skills Time Management Must follow and understand written and unwritten NYAB policies and procedures, understand and completes all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the plant; be alert for and report all safety and quality concerns. Lead other employees in all major functions of the position. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment :
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be capable of lifting 50 pounds. Required Education and Experience 1. High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred) 2. One to Two years of related experience. The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in Riverside, MO is $22.00-26.00 per hour. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. New York Air Brake is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation leave. Employees will also enjoy 10 paid holidays, and 2 personal holidays throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies.
