Job Description

Job Title:
Production Operator Job Description The Production Operator works on a production line in a food manufacturing facility, learning and performing the full process from mixing ingredients to packaging finished products. You monitor automated equipment, complete quality and safety checks, and accurately document production activities. Some operators may serve as floaters, supporting multiple lines and positions as needed, gaining broad knowledge of the facility and processes. Responsibilities Operate and monitor production line equipment for mixing, panning, portioning, baking, extracting, grinding, and packaging according to established procedures. Learn and perform the entire production process, including mixing, a line-specific middle section, and final packaging activities. Measure and weigh product into pre-made boxes with liners, ensuring accuracy and consistency in packing. Verify that all packaged boxes have the correct labels applied in the proper position, ensuring compliance with product and regulatory requirements. Measure out ingredients on pallets and pour ingredients into blenders or conches, following precise formulation sheets and signing off on required documentation. Complete all required production paperwork accurately and on time, including batch records and quality check forms. Perform metal detector checks on the hour and document results to support food safety standards. Scan product in and out of the system as required to maintain accurate inventory and traceability. Follow new and updated processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures as they are implemented. Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move ingredients and finished goods safely around the facility. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health, safety, and food hygiene guidelines. Work at a fast pace while standing for extended periods to meet production targets and schedule requirements. For floater roles, move between multiple lines and positions as needed, quickly learning new tasks and supporting different teams across the facility. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to temperature and dust conditions in the production environment. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: packing, palletizing, visual inspection, machine operating, or blending. Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Ability to work at a fast pace and stand for long periods of time in a production environment. Comfort operating and monitoring automated machinery and production equipment. Ability to follow precise instructions, recipes, and process sheets with strong attention to detail. Basic proficiency in completing paperwork and documentation accurately. Willingness to learn the full production process and adapt to new processes and procedures. Demonstrated drive and motivation to advance and take on additional responsibilities. Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including day or night schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous food manufacturing experience is highly desirable. Experience with metal detecting equipment in a production or food safety context. Experience using pallet jacks or similar material handling equipment. Comfort working as a floater, moving between different lines and positions as needed. Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment. Why Work Here? You join a growing, international organization with a strong presence in the food industry and clear opportunities for career advancement into roles such as mixer or team lead. The rotating 12-hour schedule provides built-in days off during the week, supporting work-life balance, and offers the potential for overtime for those who want to increase their earnings. Once hired on permanently, you gain access to comprehensive benefits, paid holidays and holiday pay, and a monthly vending card allowance, reflecting a culture that values its workforce and invests in employee well-being and development. Work Environment This role is based in a clean, well-lit food manufacturing facility that operates on rotating 12-hour shifts. Day shift runs approximately from 6:30 a.m. to 6:50 p.m., and night shift runs from 6:30 p.m. to 6:50 a.m., with full training provided on the assigned shift. The facility is climate controlled, but due to heat from machinery and ovens, temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees, and the environment can be dusty depending on the product being manufactured. Work is fast paced and requires standing for long periods and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds. Operators use automated machines, metal detectors, pallet jacks, and scanning equipment as part of their daily tasks. As this is a food production environment, strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene guidelines is required.
