Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker packages a variety of materials, including liquids, water-soluble products, and powders, in a fast-paced, large-scale manufacturing environment. This role focuses on consistent, high-volume output—packaging up to 8,000 pounds of materials per day—while maintaining strict quality standards and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The position involves highly repetitive tasks and requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Package liquids, water-soluble products, and powders according to batch records and established quality specifications. Maintain a fast and consistent production pace to support high-volume packaging targets, including up to 8,000 pounds of materials per day. Perform line clearance activities to ensure equipment and work areas are properly prepared between batches. Conduct inspections and in-process quality checks to verify product integrity, labeling accuracy, and packaging quality. Accurately complete all required production documentation, including batch records, logbooks, and related forms. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures to ensure product safety and compliance. Identify minor equipment issues during production, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate more complex problems to the appropriate personnel. Assist with loading, packing, and general production tasks as needed to support overall line efficiency. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including working in cleanroom or controlled environments when required. Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and dress code requirements, including appropriate use of gloves and restrictions on certain jewelry. Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude to support smooth production operations. Collaborate with team members and work independently when required to meet production goals and deadlines. Essential Skills Experience in production, general labor, or general manufacturing environments. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting. Proven ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with packaging, inspection, loading, and packing in a manufacturing or similar environment. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and willingness to strictly follow written procedures. Ability to complete production documentation, batch records, and logbooks accurately and legibly. Capability to identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate when necessary. Strong work ethic, independence, and reliability, with a focus on attendance and positive attitude. Comfort working with raw materials on a large scale. Ability to stand for extended periods, perform manual tasks, and meet the physical demands of a high-volume production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is a strong plus. Experience in food or beverage production is beneficial and may be considered for this role. Previous experience working in a cleanroom or controlled production environment. Working knowledge in assembly or related manufacturing operations. Work Environment This role is based in a high-volume production facility that focuses on packaging liquids, water-soluble products, and powders at a large scale. The work is highly repetitive and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on meeting daily output targets while maintaining quality and compliance with GMP standards. Employees may work in cleanroom or controlled environments and use standard production and packaging equipment. The current schedule follows a four-day workweek, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts, but is presently operating as four 12-hour shifts with overtime. Available shifts include a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and a third shift from 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The facility maintains strict hygiene and safety standards, including requirements that face jewelry is not worn and fake nails must be fully covered with gloves, with a preference for not wearing fake nails. The dress code emphasizes appropriate protective gear and cleanliness to support product safety and regulatory compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
