JOB SUMMARY
The Production Support position is an entry-level, hands-on role within the Genie Reconditioning operation. This position performs assigned support and manual labor tasks related to the cleaning, preparation, handling, and movement of Genie aerial equipment as it progresses through the reconditioning process. Work is task-based, closely supervised, and completed in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. Production Support employees assist multiple departments—including wash, blast, paint, mechanical, and final assembly—by performing essential activities that support production flow. This role is intended as a foundational position for individuals beginning a career in an industrial manufacturing environment and includes structured on-the-job training
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist painters, mechanics, and technicians by staging materials, handing off tools, and completing preparatory tasks as assigned. Load and unload parts, components, or equipment from delivery vehicles, staging areas, or internal transport locations. Operate basic hand tools and shop equipment under supervision and in accordance with established procedures. Move units, parts, and components between workstations using carts, hoists, or forklifts when properly trained and certified. Participate in daily or weekly production meetings and departmental huddles, including communication of company updates and performance. Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management. Perform general shop housekeeping duties, including sweeping, trash removal, and maintaining organized work areas. Follow all work instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements as directed. Employees may perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The frequency and duration of the duties described may vary based on production needs, equipment condition, and workflow requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Willingness to work in a physical, fast-paced industrial environment Reliable attendance and consistent work habits
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all Quality Management System (QMS), departmental and company procedures applicable to assigned tasks. All employees are required to follow and promote all company and regulatory safety and environmental standards and always exhibit safe work practices Possess a positive attitude and promote a positive work environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, oils, grease, and varying temperatures for moderate to extended periods. Significant safety considerations exist due to proximity to moving equipment, use of tools and machinery, and handling of medium-to-heavy materials. Occasional office or desk-based work may be required. Employees must follow all safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment, including safety-toe shoes and safety glasses, in designated areas. This employee must maintain knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting 10%, standing/walking/climbing 90%. This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this role, the employee regularly walks, stands, climbs, uses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and communicates verbally.
