Non-exempt Purpose:
This position requires an independent person who can be given direction and complete tasks on their own. The position requires a lot of hand use and hand/eye coordination and attention to detail for assembling/production of parts. This person must be able to read and follow a drawing for assembly whole also following written protocols. This person must be able to manage their time to ensure that the work is completed quickly and correctly. Reading, writing and math skills are required. This job is classified as a safety sensitive position. Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Assemble kits, tanks, carts, and other battery watering accessories with precision and attention to detail according to Level 2 work instructions, drawings, or blueprints. This includes cutting tubing to varying lengths and assembling watering system kits. A drawing is provided for the kit layout and the assembler is required to put the kit together as shown in the drawing. Use of tube cutting machine and other equipment for assembly processes is required. Package products with proper labeling and packaging. Ensure FIFO procedures are followed. Assist in other areas of production as needed. Empty trash cans in production area and discard of cardboard as needed. Keep work area clean. Participate in quality control measures to uphold product specifications. Inspect components and finished products for defects and report any issues promptly. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve quality concerns. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team leads to ensure smooth workflow. Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture within the production Department. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety training sessions and report any safety concerns promptly. Some heavy lifting required.
Supervision:
The Production Assembler employee will be under the direct supervision of the Production Assembly Lead. Requests for time off, calling in sick, and any other concerns will be directed to the Production Assembly Lead for approval.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Zero to six months related production, assembly, or quality control preferred. Strong attention to detail is imperative. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracy. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a quality product. Must have knowledge of how to operate a computer. Successful completion of a post offer physical, drug screen and background check Read, write and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment:
The work environment is generally quiet and the employee regularly works around plastics and hot water. While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly is sitting down at a work station. The associate will occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds. The main working area is climate controlled. The warehouse is not temperature controlled. Must be comfortable working in a high-speed production environment.

This position is Non-exempt. Forty (40) hours of work are required per week. Overtime is possible as requested by the Production Assembly Lead.
