Job Description

We are looking for a talented Operational Excellence Specialist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC .
Job Summary:
Performs highly skilled non production activities independently supporting manufacturing processes in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment. Acts as a formal resource leading and coordinating others. Quickly and effectively adapts to change in the manufacturing environment. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
Cross Functional Project Collaboration:
Experience working with internal and external resources to drive project execution, resolve issues, and ensure successful delivery of manufacturing initiatives.
Relationship Building:
Ability to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide support in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Process Improvement:
Support with improving production processes to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and overall operational performance. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications required
Lean Problem-solving Skills:
Knowledge in applying lean methodologies and tools such as A3, DMAIC, 8D, 5Why, and Fishbone to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions preferred
TPS Implementation Support:
Experience in the implementation of the Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar production systems preferred Associates degree in a manufacturing field or equivalent experience highly preferred. 2 years of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience highly preferred.
