billion in 2024. Job Description Responsibilities & Opportunities Sika is looking for experienced Machine Operator, Forklift Operators & Maintenance Techs to join it's growing team in Gastonia, NC. This position will assist the shift supervisor in coordinating the work of production employees involved in production activities. Requires knowledge of manufacturing processes and product. Operates manufacturing line. Requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality parts. Changes and adjust operating conditions to maintain proper quality.
Other Duties include:
Production Machine Operators:
To operate one or more of the following: the mixing system; calendar; press; hot melt; embosser 1, 2, and 3; anti-sticking agent unit; adhesive unit 1 and 2; U.V. unit; magnetizing unit To start up the hot oil heater and water chillers Perform quality testing; make corrections for out-of-spec conditions Ensure production scheduled to adhered to Assist in training new production employees Perform some maintenance on the press and report any needed repairs on the machines Assist in labeling and packing parts
Preferred Skills:
High School Diploma or GED 3 months-1 year related manufacturing experience Knowledge of metric system, computer literate, able to operate a forklift, and able to read and write
Overnight Forklift Operators:
About the Role Shift hours
  • 10:00pm
  • 6:30am, Sunday
  • Thursday with some Friday nights.
Able to operate both standup and sit-down forklifts. Load and unload trucks as needed. Band and/or wrap parts to pallets or racks. Ensure part pallets, containers and racks are labeled properly and QA approved stamped before loading into truck. Stage WIP parts into kitting rack; Stage WIP sheets into OLP racks; Stage WIP parts stackable racks into Repack Complies with all organization's policies, SOPs and WIs; Hold team mates accountable as well. Continuously look for areas or processes to improve. Serve all team members, listen to understand, resolve issues at the lowest level; escalate if assistance is needed All other duties assigned by management.
Your Skills and Experience Preferred Skills:
High School Diploma or GED 3 months-1 year related manufacturing experience Knowledge of metric system, computer literate, able to operate a forklift, and able to read and write previous forklift experience
Maintenance Technicians:
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a knack for keeping things running smoothly? Join our team as a Maintenance Technician and play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and facilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues Work independently from written instructions Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and material handling equipment Maintain accurate documentation and keep your work area clean Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies Use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Report unsafe conditions and take action to protect yourself and others Take on additional duties as needed Qualifications Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred 3-5 years of relevant experience Strong mechanical and electrical skills Experience with single and three-phase industrial electricity, arc welding, and cutting torch use Ability to maintain accurate paperwork and counts
