Job Description

Cutting & Sewing Supervisor We operate at a high standard because our customers expect it and our reputation depends on it. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, production flow, and operational discipline throughout the cushion manufacturing process. We are looking for someone who is reliable, accountable, detail-oriented, and capable of leading from the front. This is not a role for someone who needs constant direction or supervision. We want an A-player—someone who takes ownership, solves problems, maintains standards, and helps build a strong team environment. Skills can be taught. Work ethic, urgency, and attitude cannot. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, consistency, and execution matter every day. Position Summary
  • The Cutting & Sewing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cushion production operations, including cutting, sewing, cushion stuffing, quality control, workflow coordination, and labor management.
  • This role ensures production schedules are executed efficiently while maintaining high standards for craftsmanship, accuracy, and consistency.
  • The position works closely with Operations, Inventory Control, and Warehouse teams to support on-time production and delivery while driving accountability and continuous improvement throughout the department. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Oversight
  • Oversee daily cutting, sewing, cushion stuffing, and final cushion assembly operations.
  • Coordinate workflow across all cushion production stages to maintain efficiency and meet production schedules.
  • Monitor production output and adjust labor/resources as needed to support deadlines.
  • Ensure production priorities are clearly communicated and executed. 2. Team Leadership
  • Supervise and support production employees across cutting, sewing, and stuffing operations.
  • Train team members on production standards, workmanship expectations, and proper processes.
  • Maintain accountability for attendance, productivity, quality, and workplace conduct.
  • Help foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on accountability and respect. 3. Quality Control
  • Maintain high standards for cushion quality, consistency, fit, and workmanship.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, construction quality, fabric alignment, fill consistency, and overall presentation.
  • Identify and correct quality issues before products move to shipping.
  • Work closely with Operations to resolve recurring production or quality problems. 4. Production Coordination
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control and Operations regarding material availability, COM status, production priorities, and scheduling.
  • Ensure production teams have the information and materials needed to execute efficiently.
  • Assist with production planning and workload balancing. 5. Process Improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and rework opportunities within the production process.
  • Help improve workflow, organization, communication, and overall department performance.
  • Support implementation of operational improvements and standardized processes. 6. Workplace Organization & Safety
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas.
  • Ensure equipment and workstations are properly maintained and used correctly.
  • Promote safe working habits throughout the department. Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of experience in sewing, upholstery, cushion manufacturing, or soft goods production.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production flow, quality control, and labor coordination.
  • Ability to read production paperwork, schedules, and product specifications.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience working with custom products or COM programs is a plus. Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and accountability mindset
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Process-oriented mindset with focus on execution
  • Willingness to lead by example and work hands-on when needed
  • Open, honest, and timely communication is essential
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for results
