Job Description

Safety Is Our Top Priority The Coating Assistant Operator must understand, follow, and strictly comply with ALL safety rules and regulations . This includes recognizing and responding to potential hazards and safeguards such as: Machine guarding, light curtains, and pinch points Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Proper grounding and use of emergency stops (E‑stops) Fire alarms and site evacuation procedures Maintaining housekeeping standards and a clean, organized work area is an essential part of this role. Work Schedule This position works a rotating shift schedule that changes every 4 weeks . Shift length may be 8‑hour or 12‑hour shifts , depending on production needs.

Shift:
11:00 PM•7:00 AM Candidates must be willing and able to work any and/or all shifts as required. Key Responsibilities Assist with machine setup, startup, operation, and shutdown Learn and operate online support equipment , including: HMI systems (SCADA, Wonderware) Camera systems Thickness gauges and UV lights Viscometers, corona treaters, web cleaners, and edge guides Perform Make Ready tasks , including: Proper die setups Pump setups Hose making Assembling feed systems Parts cleaning Learn and follow TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) practices Understand FIFO , material usage, and material charging procedures Perform basic troubleshooting as required Follow applicable quality system procedures and documentation Coordinate material handling in support of production Assist with accurate time and material accounting Participate in quality issue resolution and communication Maintain proficiency in all tasks listed in the employee training record Participate in ongoing training, team activities, and continuous improvement efforts Skills & Qualifications Ability to read and write Ability to perform basic math using a calculator Ability to read a tape measure accurately Basic computer skills (email and electronic documentation) Good hand‑eye coordination Self‑motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision Strong communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift Ability and willingness to complete powered industrial vehicle (PIV) training and certification , if required
