Job Description

Receiver/Production Worker Whitney Brothers — Employee-Owned, Early Learning Furniture Manufacturer Position Summary Join Whitney Brothers, a proud employee-owned company and a leading manufacturer of early learning furniture. We are seeking a Receiver/Production Worker to join our manufacturing team. This position is for receiving in raw materials, staging jobs and maintaining hardware inventory within the receiving area. This hands-on role combines being a receiver and an active participant on the production floor with assisting supervisors in coordinating workflow, maintaining quality, and promoting a safe, efficient work environment. This position is vital to ensure we continue delivering high-quality, durable furniture that supports early childhood learning. Key Responsibilities
  • Unload and unpack shipments of products.
  • Inspect shipments for damage and correct quantities.
  • Report damages or shortages to the Purchaser.
  • Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data on paperwork.
  • Record receiving data in company databases.
  • Staging material for jobs on the floor.
  • Prepare and organize received stock for inventory.
  • Return damaged products to senders.
  • Monitor inventory levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Plywood Warehouse, and other locations inventory is kept.
  • Ensure materials are labelled properly with the placard.
Perform hands-on production work within the Milling, Finishing, or Assembly departments, including tasks such as CNC milling , finishing, assembly, and packing according to work instructions. Assist the Buyer, Supervisor or Lead in coordinating daily workflow and task assignments. Inspect parts or products during production to ensure conformance to Whitney Brothers' high-quality standards. Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment, quality, or process issues. Help ensure materials, tools, and supplies are available for production. Follow all Whitney Brothers policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Maintain good attendance and punctuality. Take action to minimize waste and maximize productivity, supporting our commitment to sustainability and efficiency. Promote teamwork, positive morale, and safe work practices in alignment with our employee-ownership culture. Communicate production concerns, quality issues, or unrealistic expectations to the Supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Qualifications
  • Basic math and organization skills
  • Ability to bend and lift 50-75 pounds or more
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Data entry and computer skills
  • Forklift certification is beneficial for unloading large shipments
  • Ability to work on feet for long hours
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of safety protocols and requirements
  • Experience shipping, receiving or selling related products Mental & Visual Requirements Ability to follow verbal, written, and visual instructions.
Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment that values collaboration and ownership. Attention to detail to determine acceptable and unacceptable product quality. Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and production priorities. Physical Requirements Stand for up to 8 hours per day. Frequent bending, squatting, and repetitive hand motions. Regular lifting of 5-40 lbs. Frequent lifting of 40-70 lbs. Occasional shared lifting of 70-150 lbs. Firm grasping and repetitive use of hands.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
