Immediately hiring a Machine Attendant in Berlin, NJ We're hiring a Machine Attendant for a premier Industrial Manufacturing Company in the Berlin NJ area. This is a Direct Hire opportunity and we're hiring immediately! Shift/Pay:
7:00AM - 7:00PM working 14 working days a month Must be open to rotating between 1st/3rd shift (3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off, 5 on, 7 off) Pay Rate $20.50 pay raises every 6 months Job Description The Machine Operator/Attendant operates and monitors packaging and manufacturing equipment, performs quality control inspections, and troubleshoots issues to keep people, equipment, and products safe and running smoothly in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This full-time role supports the production of fiberglass building insulation used in residential and commercial applications and is well-suited for individuals with a strong work ethic and an interest in manufacturing or related industrial work. Responsibilities Operate and attend packaging and manufacturing equipment in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner. Monitor machine performance and production flow, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and throughput. Perform routine quality control inspections on products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications. Identify, troubleshoot, and help resolve basic equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times. Handle, move, and stage materials, packaging, and finished products in support of production requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and surrounding production spaces as required. Communicate clearly with team members and leadership about production status, issues, and improvement opportunities. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently in all designated areas. Adapt to rotating shifts and changing priorities while maintaining reliable attendance and strong work performance. Skills Strong interest in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in manufacturing, general production, or general labor roles. Hands-on experience in production helper, warehouse, or similar physically demanding roles. Ability to work safely around heavy machinery, moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. Comfort working in non-climate-controlled environments that can be hot, humid, cold, dusty, or noisy. Capability to follow detailed instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. Strong work ethic, reliability, and demonstrated tenure and commitment in prior work history. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, and working on uneven, wet, or dusty surfaces. Willingness to wear and properly use required PPE such as steel-toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection, gloves, and head protection. Readiness to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in the manufacturing industry, including packaging or production environments. Experience in warehouse operations or construction roles that demonstrate strong work ethic and comfort with physical labor. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ability to adapt to a 28-day rotating schedule with both day and night shifts. Comfort working in environments with high noise, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles. Willingness to work with processes that involve toxic or caustic chemicals while following all safety procedures. Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that produces fiberglass building insulation. The environment involves frequent work around heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The facility is not climate controlled, so conditions can be extremely hot and humid or cold depending on the operation and the season. Walking and working surfaces may be wet, dusty, and uneven, and some areas have high noise levels, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles that can irritate the skin or eyes. The manufacturing process includes the use of toxic or caustic chemicals, and strict adherence to safety procedures is required. Employees must wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection, gloves, and head protection; in certain areas, dust masks or respirators may also be required. The role follows a 12-hour shift schedule of either 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., on a 28-day rotating cycle that includes both day and night shifts. The rotation typically consists of 4 days on / 3 days off, 3 days on / 1 day off, 3 days on / 3 days off, and 4 days on / 7 days off, resulting in a total of approximately 14 working days per month and built-in extended periods of time off Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Berlin, NJ.
