Experience in Construction/Manufacturing or Production (Preferred) Job Description The Machine Operator supports production in the coatings division and coating/blending department by operating machinery, labeling and sleeving pails and buckets, and assisting with mixing and pouring asphalt-based coatings. This role involves repetitive manual labor, including lifting and palletizing filled buckets, while maintaining a clean and safe work area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate machines that apply sleeves to pails in the coatings division. Run labels through a glue machine and apply them accurately to pails and buckets. Label and sleeve pails and buckets according to production requirements and quality standards. Move stacked pails and buckets, rolling and arranging them into rows or storage areas. Assist in the mixing and blending of coatings as directed by production procedures. Operate valves to pour asphalt into buckets in the coating/blending department. Manually remove filled buckets from the production line and palletize them safely and efficiently. Perform repetitive lifting and palletizing of buckets weighing approximately 25-50 lbs. Maintain a clean and organized work space, following general housekeeping standards. Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment. Support general production tasks as needed to keep the manufacturing process running smoothly. Skills At least 1 year of manufacturing or construction experience. Ability to perform general production work in a manufacturing environment. Capability to lift and handle 25-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Comfort with manual labor, including repetitive lifting, moving, and palletizing. Ability to operate basic production machinery such as sleeving and labeling equipment after training. Attention to detail when labeling and sleeving pails and buckets. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work area through general housekeeping. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to production procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a coatings, blending, or similar industrial environment is beneficial. Experience working with palletizing processes and material handling is an advantage. Familiarity with operating valves and handling liquid or semi-liquid materials is helpful. Strong work ethic and reliability in a physically demanding role. Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks within the production process. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility that can be hot and dusty, particularly due to fiberboard cutting and coating processes. You will work on or near production lines, handling pails and buckets, and operating machinery throughout your shift. The position requires wearing practical work attire such as work pants, work shirt, and boots. Safety glasses are provided, and you may choose to wear a dust mask or sleeve over your mouth for additional comfort. The environment is physically demanding, fast-paced, and focused on safety, cleanliness, and consistent production output. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berlin, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
