POSITION SUMMARY
The Mill/Pave Operator is responsible for operating machinery used in the milling, grinding, and paving of road surfaces. This includes the preparation, operation, and maintenance of milling machines, pavers, and related equipment to ensure the safe and efficient completion of road construction and resurfacing projects.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate milling machines to remove old asphalt or concrete surfaces.
- Set up and operate paving equipment for laying new asphalt or concrete.
- Ensure proper machine settings, such as speed and depth, for optimal paving.
- Monitor equipment performance and adjust ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain and inspect equipment regularly to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the preparation of job sites and the transport of materials.
- Work closely with other crew members to complete tasks on time.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience operating milling or paving equipment preferred. Knowledge of road construction and resurfacing techniques. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
