Production Operator Position Summary:
The Production Operator is responsible for the efficient and accurate assembly, machining, and finishing of door components in a manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality and safety standards, and the ability to operate various production equipment and hand tools.Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate machinery, power tools, and assembly equipment to manufacture doors according to production schedules. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to ensure proper materials, measurements, and finishes. Inspect parts and finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. Perform basic troubleshooting and minor equipment adjustments to maintain optimal performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Handle and move raw materials, door slabs, frames, and hardware using appropriate lifting techniques or equipment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals. Document production data, quality checks, and material usage as required. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality. Other duties as assignedQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or construction environment preferred. Experience with doors, windows, or millwork production is a plus. Ability to read and understand work orders, blueprints, and measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools. Basic computer and data entry skills preferred.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day, as well as other physical duties as needed. Must be able to utilize tools. Must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members. Must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions consistently. Why Clayton?
