Job Description The Mill Operator will be responsible for taking raw slabs of uncured rubber and placing it in the mill to warm the rubber up for the Calendering Operator. Job Functions
  • Ensure the Mills being worked on are in Safe working conditions prior to running
  • Ensure the mills are well lubricated and oil cans are full on the equipment prior to running
  • Ensure gears are being properly lubricated by checking oil sight gauges
  • Able to Clock in and out of Work orders you are running at the start and end of each completed job
  • Keeping up with the calender operator to ensure that there is adequate amount of heated rubber for the nip of the Calender
  • Familiarize and increase knowledge of all Calendering Lines and how to increase efficiencies where possible.
  • Share ideas with Production team (Supervisor/Plant Manager) on ways to improve performance/quality.
  • Ensure that the Equipment you are running is operating and in safe working condition that is in conformance to OSHA Standards
  • If something is not Safe it is everyone's responsibility to see something and say something to Production Supervisor/Plant Manager/Maintenance to get it addressed
  • Raise awareness to Plant Manager and Ownership group for potential areas of production opportunities/concern/exposure Other machine operations may be available upon management discretion. Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Passaic Rubber's Calendering Equipment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership abilities
