Job Description

United Salt Carlsbad is a privately owned company that produces solar salt for the de-icing, agricultural and water conditioning industries. It is a subsidiary of United Salt Corporation, headquartered in Houston TX. The plant runs 24 hours/day and consists of a lake plant where the salt is grown and harvested and a processing plant where the salt is dried, screened to size, processed, packaged and shipped to customers in the southwest and mid-west. United Salt Carlsbad is looking for production operators.
Job Summary:
The Production Operator will support manufacturing operations by performing essential packaging, material handling, and general labor duties while training on equipment and safety protocols. This role is designed for individuals seeking to develop practical skills in an industrial setting, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, safety consciousness, and teamwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on manufacturing skills while working alongside a dedicated team committed to quality and safety.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
The operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the packaging equipment. Set up a packaging machine to run various sizes and types of bagged products. Monitor and regulate the flow of product to the packaging machine. The operator must set up the net weighing scales for the targeted weight. Monitor the overall quality of machine output and remove inferior products. Troubleshot and identified the machine malfunction. Ability to lift bags weighing up to 80 lbs. Re-stack packaged products as needed. Set up and maintain date coders. Maintain a clean work area free of potential hazards. All work assignments must be conducted in accordance with company and MSHA safety guidelines. The operator must maintain the utmost level of product quality. Warehouse experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all equipment used. Responsibilities are not limited to the above and will also include other jobs assigned by their supervisor.
