Full Job Description Client Overview:
Our client is a growing fashion company specializing in private label and licensed apparel programs for major retail partners. They are looking to add a Production Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$50k•$60k
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Production Assistant to support the Design Director and cross-functional teams across Production, Product Development, and Design. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in building a career within the fashion industry. Internship experience in production, product development, sourcing, or design is highly preferred. Responsibilities of the
Production Assistant:
Organize and maintain physical production folders throughout the development and production process. Receive, track, and distribute fit samples, lab dips, strike-offs, trims, fabric approvals, and other production submissions. Follow up with design and technical design teams to ensure timely review and approval of submissions. Prepare fit samples and submissions for buyer review, including cover letters, hangtags, and supporting documentation. Communicate directly with buyers regarding shipments and approvals. Relay buyer comments and feedback to internal teams and overseas production partners to facilitate revisions. Track production timelines and escalate delays or missed milestones when necessary. Generate tech packs and product information packages for costing and production placement. Assist with reviewing production approvals and communicating updates to buyers. Make minor updates and revisions to CADs using Adobe Illustrator. Provide administrative and project support across Production, Product Development, and Design functions. Required Experience/Skills for the
Production Assistant:
Internship or entry-level experience in apparel production, product development, design, or sourcing. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Preferred Experience/Skills for the
Production Assistant:
Internship experience supporting apparel production or product development teams. Exposure to technical design processes and garment development. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. Experience working with overseas vendors or factories is a plus. Familiarity with tech packs, fit samples, and production approval processes.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
