Job Description Our client, a leading dress design brand, is seeking an experienced Senior Designer with expertise in Contemporary Dresses for the Junior's market. Will be responsible for creating, designing, and developing their successful collection which are sold to better department stores. This is a collaborative design team that is on-site 5 days a week. The salary range for this role is $125-175k based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop seasonal collections for Junior dresses that align with brand vision and market trends. Create original sketches, technical drawings, colorations, and print and pattern. Collaborate with the merchandising and production teams to ensure designs meet cost targets and delivery schedules. Conduct trend research, market analysis, and attend trade shows as needed. Oversee fittings and adjustments, ensuring proper fit, function, and comfort. Work closely with fabric and trim sourcing teams to select appropriate materials.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in apparel design with experience in casual dresses. An interest in the Contemporary or Juniors market. Strong portfolio highlighting design experience in junior dresses or contemporary day dresses. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software. Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fit, and safety standards. Effective communication and presentation skills.
