$17.00 - $23.00/hr Job Description The Production Associate performs a wide range of tasks to build electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies, including soldering, cable assembly, machine operation, final assembly, PCB work, machine crimping, and ribbon cable assembly. This role follows established methods and procedures to complete work according to manufacturing schedules with limited supervision, while maintaining high quality and accuracy in all documentation and assembly activities. Responsibilities Perform hand soldering of wires to electrical connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs) using established procedures and quality standards. Assemble electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies as required, including cable assemblies, ribbon cable assemblies, and related components. Operate production and assembly equipment and machines safely and efficiently as part of the manufacturing process. Review, complete, and maintain required production documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Read and interpret moderately complex assembly instructions, blueprints, and work orders to perform assembly tasks correctly. Follow written and verbal assignments, instructions, and priorities from production leads and supervisors. Work within a cleanroom and surface-mount technology (SMT) environment as needed to support production requirements. Use hand tools and basic production tools to assemble, crimp, and secure components according to specifications. Adhere to all quality, safety, and production standards while meeting daily and weekly output goals. Collaborate with team members and participate in cross-training to support multiple areas of production as needed. Essential Skills Hands-on soldering experience, including soldering wires to electrical connectors and PCBs. Experience with electronic assembly, including SMT and general soldering assembly tasks. Ability to read and understand moderately complex assembly instructions and blueprints. Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal assignments in a production environment. Proficiency with basic hand tools used in assembly and production work. Experience in general production, assembly, or manufacturing roles. High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with surface-mount technology (SMT) lines or in an SMT production environment. Experience in electronic assembly in a cleanroom or controlled environment. Comfort working with detailed production documentation and quality records. Willingness to participate in cross-training across different assembly and production areas. Interest in developing advanced soldering skills through on-site testing and training. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a 154,000 square foot, temperature-controlled facility with more than 550 people on site and 7 SMT lines in operation. There are multiple shift options available, including first shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and second shift (Monday-Thursday, 2:30 p.m.-1:00 a.m.), with a shift differential offered for second shift. The environment is clean, modern, and well-lit, with a cafeteria available for employees. Work is performed in a production and electronic assembly setting that may include cleanroom areas and SMT lines, requiring adherence to standard safety and facility guidelines for attire and personal protective equipment as appropriate for the tasks being performed. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.
