Our goal is to provide expert garment care and superior customer service. We provide on-the-job training in a safe environment with a fast-paced and lively atmosphere. This position is responsible for shaping garments, eliminating wrinkles, adding or removing creases found in assorted types of materials, and using a machine press and/or steam iron. Employee will be cross trained to provide better opportunities for growth.

REPORTS TO

General Manager

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Operates professional machine press and steam iron to smooth surfaces, flatten seams, remove wrinkles, or shape articles, such as garments or household items. Presses items in order received from and/or as determined by supervisor. Verifies that all garments are safe to process and on the correct machine press. Touches up shirts and blouses using press to inspection-ready quality. May finish pressed articles using hand or puff irons. Hangs pressed articles on appropriate hangers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

No previous pressing experience required; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work in multiple production areas; ability to take direction and respond positively to feedback; desire to be a highly effective team member; ability to stand for duration of shift, manipulative machinery (upper body mobility), and ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
