Job Description

Crane Consumables is expanding! We're a local, family-owned manufacturer of bar code, pricing and packaging labels. As we move closer to finishing our 12,000 foot expansion, we are in need of motivated individuals who are reliable and hard working to operate our die cutting (flexo) presses. We focus on candidates that have mechanical aptitude, curiosity and a work ethic that's exemplified in their work history. Because this role requires approximately 3 months of training to reach basic proficiency, we prioritize applicants with a stable work history. Candidates who frequently change jobs or have multiple short tenures may not be chosen to move forward in the hiring process. We are specifically looking to fill our 2nd Shift. 2nd shift: 4pm
  • 2am Monday
  • Thursday. Note that all training occurs on 1st shift (8am
  • 4pm for approx 60-90 days) before moving to the 2nd shift schedule.
There is a $2/hr shift premium for this shift.
Press Operator Job Responsibilities:
Operates a paper flexographic press (Aztech, Rotoflex, etc) to make a variety of sizes and types of labels. Consistently meets safety, production rate and quality standards. Changes out and installs tooling and sets machine components based on the specifications of each job. Reviews work instructions for proper set up and processing of jobs. Supports maintenance personnel in the care and preventative maintenance of machinery. Ensures production areas are maintained in an orderly and clean manner. Adheres to all safety requirements and company policies. Qualifications Strong work ethic and consistent past employment Excellent work performance and attendance history. Ability to successfully complete a drug and background check. Ability to be flexible and show initiative. Problem solving/critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail and self-motivated are key skills. Must be 18 years old, able to lift 50-75 lbs on a consistent basis and stand for long periods. Some industrial experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude is a plus. Problem solving/critical thinking skills.
