Production Machine Feeder

Job Description Summary :

The Production Machine Feeder is responsible for loading raw corrugated material into the hopper of a fast-paced rotary die cutter machine. The position involves a lot of lifting and twisting material up to 50lbs. The Sheet feeder will also assist the operator hanging print plants and changing cutting dies and various other tasks as assigned by the production manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Load raw corrugated material into a hopper. Measures, weighs, and count products and materials. Examines and inspects all raw material before it goes into the machine Hangs print plates. Changes cutting dies. At times, breaks apart bundles of boxes into groups of 50 count or other customer specifications. At times, down stacks wrapped bundles onto pallets. May need to record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Removes completed or defective products or materials. Helps to cleans machines, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Experience and Requirements:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing machine experience required. Experience with corrugated cardboard, machine feeding and die cutters preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual needs to constantly move about inside the warehouse to load, unload, stock and move materials throughout the warehouse. The individual needs to ascend/ descend a ladder to stock shelves and acquire product to fill orders. The individual frequently positions self to gather product from shelves that are positioned near ground level and overhead. They occasionally have to use hand, air and electrical tools to repair product. They occasionally operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other employees while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
