Summary of Role The Production Float is responsible for assisting in all production areas of the McMinnville Creamery. This role will work in HTST, raw milk intake, and dried milk powder production. This is a safety sensitive role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities o Perform and record milk laboratory tests to determine if load meets CROPP specifications prior to unloading and loading. o Receive and/or load raw and pasteurized milk, including reloading truck to truck transfers. o Seal or unseal trucks as appropriate. o Operate milk and cream HTST pasteurizer within specified requirements. o Wash and sanitize inside tankers after unloading milk utilizing automated CIP system. o Operate automated CIP system to clean HTST systems, milk supply lines, pasteurized storage tanks, raw milk silos, milk receiving lines, and pasteurized cream vats/silos. o Fill out and file bills of lading and certificates of analysis. o Record appropriate data regarding loads out and in. o Record production, quality and test data on record sheet. o Sanitize tankers, silos, hoses and pumps as needed. o Assist with palletizing and shrink-wrapping pallets to prepare for shipping. o Assist with recording stick weights, start time, down time, pounds produced, and pallets produced. o Assist with the production and packaging dried milk powder. o Perform daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly sanitation duties in a correct and timely fashion. o Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety and quality assurance policies and practices. o General housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitizing all other areas and equipment. Additional Duties and Responsibilities o Assist with general plant cleaning as needed. o Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o Ability to obtain state permits to operate pasteurizer. o Ability to obtain certification on the Charm Phosphates Test Method. o Must be able to work 12-hour shift, including overtime, weekend and holiday work. o Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures. o Ability to work in fast paced environment. o Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 80 pounds with assistance, ability to push/pull up to 2,500 pounds using material handling equipment. o Ability to bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulders, and climb throughout the shift as needed. o Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift. o Ability to climb tanker ladders into manways and work at heights with appropriate personal protective equipment. o Ability to safely use harness and lanyard while working on top of tankers. o Ability to interpret and understand results of official samples. o Ability to work safely with required sanitation and lab chemicals. o Effective collaborative skills; must perform comfortably in group settings. o Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner. o Basic math skills including arithmetic and the ability to perform and interpret basic calculations. o Understanding of machine operations. o Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices. o Basic computer skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred. o Ability to work with limited supervision. o Strong work ethic with history of good attendance.
Base hourly wage range:
$22.24 per hour
  • $26.
95 per hour The typical hourly wage for a new hire with little or no experience is $22.24. This position also receives a $2.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 6pm and 12am, a $3.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 12am and 6am or this position receives a $2.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should expect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage range is not typical.
