General Production Worker / Production Operator I Job Description This role works as part of a production team to fabricate and assemble quality electronic equipment in a dynamic, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. You will rotate between different work areas, handle small parts, follow written work instructions, and use computers to support consistent, high-quality output across assembly, SMT support, and material movement activities. Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble electronic equipment according to detailed written work instructions. Rotate and flex between multiple work areas daily based on established production patterns and operational needs. Support assembly operations by using small hand tools to build finished products, primarily in a seated position. Support SMT operations by pushing carts with reels of PCB components to machines, involving frequent standing, walking, and pushing. Perform material movement tasks by gathering parts from the stockroom or warehouse and delivering them to the production floor, including standing, walking, and counting components. Deliver materials to the point of consumption in response to Kanban signals to ensure continuous production flow. Accurately perform inventory transactions in the system to maintain correct stock levels and records. Actively participate in Tier 1 Daily Management System (DMS) meetings to review performance and address issues. Contribute ideas and effort to continuous improvement projects within the production area. Keep the work area organized, clean, and safe in accordance with facility standards. Follow all production, quality, and safety procedures while meeting productivity and quality targets. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead to support overall production goals. Essential Skills 0-1 years of related work experience in production, assembly, or a similar environment. Familiarity with manufacturing or production settings, including handling small parts. Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English. Ability to use computers and work within a Windows environment. Comfort working with small parts and using small hand tools for assembly tasks. Ability to stand, walk, push carts, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods as required by the area (assembly, SMT support, or material movement). Capability to accurately count parts and perform basic inventory-related tasks. Willingness to rotate between different work areas and tasks as needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing or electronics production is preferred. Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred but not required. Experience with PCB assembly, stuffing, soldering, wire and cable work, or hand add operations is a plus. Familiarity with production concepts such as Kanban and continuous improvement is beneficial. Comfort working with electronic components and equipment in a structured production line.
