Job Title:
Operator Job Description This position involves the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The role includes assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. The work is performed under close supervision and involves routine assignments following specified procedures. Responsibilities Ensure the production of medical devices meets high-quality standards. Perform assembly, repair, and test operations on medical devices such as pacemakers and ICDs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date job documentation for cell operations. Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions effectively to all levels of manufacturing management. Interact positively with internal and external customers, including during tours. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during all operations. Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes. Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability and address quality issues. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing. Work with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics. Support divisional initiatives as identified by management, in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Prioritize work based on the sequencing and timing of different jobs. Handle and maneuver small components and parts. Make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision. Essential Skills Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures. Understanding and following verbal instructions. Utilization of electronic data collection systems and computer software packages. High school degree or equivalent preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general production, machine operation, and medical device assembly. Knowledge of hand tool usage and cleanroom protocols. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a cleanroom setting within a medical device company. Employees must adhere to strict dress and hygiene codes, including wearing hairnets, gowns, and booties. Hands must be washed each time before entering the cleanroom. The facility operates Monday through Thursday, from 4 am to 2:30 pm. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, and there are restrictions on nail polish, makeup, fragrances, and certain types of clothing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00
