Job Description

The Production Clerk supports daily operations in a precision metal fabrication environment by managing production documentation, tracking work orders, and maintaining accurate manufacturing records. This role plays a key part in supporting ISO 9001 and customer‑specific requirements by ensuring production records, material traceability, and job documentation are accurate, complete, and audit‑ready. What You Will Do Prepare, distribute, and maintain work orders, travelers, routers, and associated documentation in accordance with ISO requirements Enter and update production data related to cutting, forming, welding, machining, and finishing operations Maintain accurate records of labor, quantities, scrap, rework, and job status to support quality and delivery objectives Track and record material usage, heat/lot numbers, and certifications to ensure full material traceability from receipt through shipment Ensure production documentation complies with customer specifications, quality requirements, and internal procedures Support job closeout activities, including verification of completed routers, certifications, and required documentation Communicate schedule changes, shortages, and documentation issues to production supervisors, quality, and planning personnel Assist with inventory counts, material reconciliation, and audit preparation activities Prepare basic production, efficiency, delivery, and traceability reports as requested Maintain organized and controlled production records in alignment with document control and retention policies Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of shop‑floor hazards Support compliance with
ISO 9001
quality management systems by maintaining accurate, legible, and complete production records Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods per internal procedures and customer requirements Assist with customer, internal, and third‑party audits by providing requested production and traceability documentation Immediately report documentation discrepancies, missing records, or traceability issues to supervision or quality Follow documented procedures related to record retention, revision control, and data integrity What You Will Need to Be Successful High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial office environment preferred Familiarity with ISO 9001 or regulated manufacturing environments preferred Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking software preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to understand part numbers, job travelers, and basic fabrication documentation (blueprint reading a plus) Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Good organizational and record‑keeping skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced, compliance‑driven environment Effective communication with production, quality, and management teams Basic math and data‑entry skills Dependable, punctual, and able to follow standardized procedures What CSI Industries Offers The opportunity to join a company that will invest in you for the long term.
