Job Description
Summary Ability to operate and run to standard Process Equipment and Offline Equipment, such as Studer, Okamoto ID/OD grinders, sandblasting, Brown& Sharp surface grinder etc. while adhering to strict quality, cost and delivery objectives for assigned projects. Maintain a safe working environment per OSHA standards throughout the plant and assist in implementing any required updated safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Independent, safe, responsible operation of all the equipment necessary for the production of super-abrasives and related products within specified work assignment.
Operate automated machinery, lathes, mills, furnaces, wire EDMs, and robotic equipment.
Perform hand assemblies of product, blends, sieved material, and other as required.
Operate and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, scales, microscopes, go/no go gauges, CMM and visual standards.
Perform minor tooling changes, setup and troubleshooting on production equipment. Assist area experts in completing higher difficulty tooling setup, changeovers and troubleshooting.
Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleanliness, and other as necessary.
Perform training of others with respect to the safe and responsible operation of assigned manufacturing equipment mentioned above.
Adhere to documented work instructions: PPF, POCI, EOI, JSA, assembly prints, and other as needed.
Assure product and process quality measures are maintained. Communicate quality concerns to relevant technical support personnel. Qualifications Proven independent performer that needs minimal supervision
Ability to use production management tools including LEAN, material management systems, and maintenance of accurate throughput and quality records.
Manual dexterity required to accurately handle and position parts.
Walking and standing on the shop floor for extended periods throughout the day.
Lifting and transport of materials (up to -40 lbs).
Ability to comprehend and apply training to operate manufacturing production equipment listed above.
Ability to effectively balance priorities and multiple tasks to achieve overall production goals.
Must be available to work overtime during periods of high order volume.
Basic computer competency (email, data entry into Material Mgmt. Systems, log notes in MSWord)
MUST be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Education and/or Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years previous experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment. Technical Skills/Physical Requirements
