Job Description

.Job Overview PTR Baler and Compactor (PTR), a division of Komar Industries, is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. The company manufactures and services balers, compactors, and provides parts and resources to customers. PTR is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Specialist to support manufacturing operations, production processes, continuous improvement activities, and cross-functional coordination within the production facility. The Manufacturing Operations Specialist will serve as a key resource for the production team by helping ensure manufacturing processes run safely, efficiently, and consistently. This position will support process documentation, production workflow, operational reporting, and improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve cycle time, and support on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Act as a first-line resource for production team members regarding manufacturing processes, workflow, documentation, and operational questions. Assist in the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Create, update, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and other production support documentation. Communicate with supervisors to resolve data discrepancies. Enter and update production, inventory, and information data accurately into various databases and ERP systems Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, maintenance, purchasing, and warehouse teams to resolve manufacturing issues and support daily operational needs. Support corrective action activities, root cause analysis, and problem-solving efforts for production, quality, and process-related concerns. Work with shop operations and vendors to support repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities for facility and production equipment. Help ensure manufacturing activities comply with company policies, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable procedures. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to production support, process improvements, inspections, and operational activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering technology, operations, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three to five years of manufacturing operations, production support, process improvement, or related operational experience required. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, production processes, manufacturing tools, and shop floor operations. Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing, metal fabrication, welding, assembly, or similar industrial environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and technical documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions. Ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, engineering, quality, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP or MRP systems preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Must be able to work in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shop floor environment where temperatures may vary. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and move throughout the facility as needed. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
