Job Description:
The role of the Senior Designer is to provide a high level of design services to customers, including any necessary programming, typical development, install documents, and specifications to generate a furniture order. The Senior Designer is the in-house Product Specialist who will work with sales and other Designers to advise on application solutions, specification and installation guidelines to ensure order development is accurate and priced correctly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Space planning and any necessary fit plans
  • Coordinate all phases of the design process with the salesperson and customer
  • Work with customers to develop final approved plans
  • Create and deliver client presentations
  • Development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates and specifications
  • Reviews site; conducts field measurements as needed
  • Code and regulation compliance
  • Prepare installation drawings
  • Manages changes and revisions
  • Uploads current working version of plan with dimensions to PlanGrid for site surveyor
  • Create fabric / finish boards upon request
  • Maintains detailed and extensive project documentation Communicates regularly with PM and Director on project status, issues & concerns in regards to overall design or schedule.
  • Assist with the creation of final proposals
  • Mentor new designers and provide guidance to the entire design group
  • Provide final spec checks and sign off's of specifications created by designers
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or similar or equivalent experience
  • Must have 3-5 years of CET experience.
  • 5+ year of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent Teknion product knowledge
  • MS Office Environment proficient
  • Proficient in CET, Sketch up, AutoCAD, Adobe
  • Understands the importance of deadlines and the ability to meet them.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and motivates others to do the same
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
