Full Job Description Job Summary:
Utilizing garment structures knowledge, create & grade patterns ensuring accurate translation of design sketches. Engineer patterns to be production friendly with optimal fit and to follow set company standards.
Education:
Degree in apparel or fashion design preferred, or related industry experience. Essential Functions Create development patterns based on design sketches. Process patterns for photo samples as needed Adjust patterns as needed to achieve desired fit standard, issuing fit samples as required Adjust patterns as needed for best construction method Finalize development patterns and save for production. Accurately grade patterns to maintain GK fit standards across all sizes in production Adjust production patterns for shrink & stretch as needed for production orders Assist in processing patterns for any new fabrics or for research and development testing Other duties as required
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent patternmaking skills (Lectra, Optitex or Gerber preferred) Knowledge of garment construction Strong Microsoft office skills, including Word and Excel Excellent communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting Occasional standing and walking Occasional movement through various departments Manual dexterity of fingers and hands
