PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Assistant Editors may be assigned to a variety of tasks and projects, including providing editorial and creative support to our film and video editors, providing technical editorial support, as well as to a wide range of other post production tasks such as media ingest, playout, conforming, quality control and archiving. Additionally, specialized post production tasks involving audio, graphics, grading or online editing may be assigned based on background, experience and interest. All duties may occur during day or night shifts at our Santa Monica facility, via remote editorial technology, or at RBMH events across the United States.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. ASSIST
: Provide editorial, creative and technical assistance to film and video editors Work with producers, directors and operational management to ensure that priorities are met Ingest, back up, sync and organize footage from frequent non-live and live productions Maintain Red Bull post-production workflow standards 2.
INGEST :
Transcode source footage to edit-friendly file formats Record live programs to digital disk recorders Archive source footage and completed programs Transfer completed programs into the Red Bull content management system 3.
PLAYOUT:
Conform picture-locked edit sequences to original camera sources in preparation for color grading Lay back final color graded programs with final audio tracks Play out completed programs for internal and external distribution Perform hardware based standards conversions 4.
QUALITY:
Perform quality control on various digital video and audio assets Assist Quality Management with internal and production partner support
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in film and television, media technology, media engineering, or related fields Solid understanding of digital film and video technology and post production workflows Outstanding attention to detail Bilingual English / Spanish language skills a major plus Solid understanding of non-linear editing and color grading applications such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe PremierePro/Adobe Creative Cloud, and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Audio post experience (e.g. Avid ProTools, dialogue editing, mixing) a major plus

At least one year of experience in a film or television production company, broadcast facility, broadcast services facility, or other media venue
