This may include shipping, receiving, moving, preparing, cutting or assisting in the preparation of material to manufacture tanks, vessels and their components. Additionally, this role may support basic fabricating, grinding and welding operations for non-ASME materials while adhering to quality standards. Essential Job Functions Operates equipment (i.e. rolls, shears, brakes, forming equipment, sandblast, etc.) that is repetitive in nature, requires minimal or routine set up, or set up is performed by someone else. Performs routine painting where finish or compliance to specifications are not critical. Operates overhead cranes and JIB hoists in a safe manner, including selecting appropriate rigging. Builds, assembles, tests and repairs components, subassemblies and assemblies, etc. Cuts scrap using equipment such as shears, manual Plasma cutters, ironworkers, etc. Tack and flat welds. Prepares and sandblasts material. Performs calibration of vessels. Grinds, deburrs, bevels and otherwise prepares edges or surfaces of material. Quarters heads and shells with assistance. Prepares parts and equipment for shipment by packing, boxing, crating and loading. Receives materials and completes other warehouse functions. Operates trucks under three tons (i.e. tractors and fork-trucks). Basic computer use, limited to locating and issuing parts. Assists as a spotter. Maintains a clean work environment. Assists other classifications as required. Performs other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned. Attend and contribute to open book management. Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies) Ability to read a tape measure and blue prints. Knowledge of basic math principles and computer skills. Ability to promote a safe work environment. Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter to meet production demands and schedules. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Experience with trucks under three tons (i.e. tractors and fork-trucks) and overhead cranes. Base Compensation Range:
$16.90 - $18.64 per hour Shift Differential:
$2.00 per hour Variable Compensation Range:
