General Production Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Operator to join our team in a heavy industrial environment. The role requires a proactive individual who is ready to engage in a variety of tasks to ensure smooth production processes. Responsibilities Pack bags of starch efficiently and effectively. Climb stairs and empty 50 lb bags of starch into mixers. Regularly sweep and clean the work area to maintain a tidy environment. Open valves on tanks as required. Operate machine controls using basic touch screen technology. Lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Adhere to 12-hour rotating shifts, working 4 days on followed by 3 days off. Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures and prioritize safety at all times. Essential Skills Experience as a chemical operator or in a similar role. Proficiency in quality control and production processes. Ability to handle materials and operate machines effectively. Strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures and basic manufacturing principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Self-driven and hardworking attitude. Capability to identify and perform additional tasks beyond assigned duties. Previous experience in machine operation is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment can be very hot and dirty, requiring candidates to be comfortable in such conditions. It is deadline-intensive and focused on quality. Employees will work 12-hour rotating shifts, including both day and night shifts, with a pattern of 4 days on and 3 days off. The dress code includes work pants and shirts, and employees are provided with a hard hat and glasses. Steel-toed boots are a must. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $23.75/hr.
