Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for a hardworking, dependable Firewood Production Specialist to join our firewood operation. This hands-on role involves processing raw logs into finished firewood — from cutting and splitting to identifying wood species and moving material around the yard with a skid steer. If you enjoy physical outdoor work and know your way around equipment and timber, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Operate a chainsaw and/or log splitter to cut and process logs into firewood Identify common tree/wood species (oak, pine, hickory, sweetgum, cherry, etc.) to ensure proper sorting and seasoning Operate a skid steer to move and organize logs and finish firewood throughout the yard Load and unload deliveries of raw logs and finished product Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance (chainsaw, splitter, skid steer) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work yard Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage Qualifications Experience operating a skid steer (required) Chainsaw experience and safe handling practices (required) Ability to identify common southeastern hardwood and softwood species (preferred) Comfortable with heavy physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions Reliable, self-motivated, and a team player Valid driver's license preferred
