POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Floor Lead oversees daily operations of the production floor personnel to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing preparation process. This role is responsible for coordinating workflow for the Sewing teams, monitoring job readiness, and supporting the smooth movement of work through the department. The Operations Floor Lead ensures tasks are completed according to company standards while performing hands-on production duties as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production floor workers to ensure jobs for Sewing teams are ready as they reach the floor. Pull samples for all jobs once they are prepped. Clock FLOOR and CPREP employees in and out of jobs. Monitor the Automation department to determine when automation steps are required before jobs move to the Sewing team. Return samples to the sample cage once FA (Final Approval) is completed. Print out the sewer schedule each morning and attach to the Team Leader board. Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform standard production tasks alongside team members as needed. Ensure that all floor employees promptly report any safety concerns or hazards and take appropriate action to address and resolve them. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate workflow issues or delays to the Manager promptly. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience. Prior leadership, team lead, or training experience preferred but not required. Ability to multitask and manage multiple jobs moving through the department. Strong communication skills for giving instructions and relaying information to team members. Ability to guide team members through daily tasks. Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to production issues. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic computer knowledge.
