Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Press Brake Helper supports the Press Brake Operator in the setup, operation, and maintenance of press brake machinery used to bend and form metal components. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in setting up press brake machines by preparing tools, dies, and materials. Load and unload metal sheets or parts onto the press brake. Support the operator in aligning and positioning materials accurately. Clean and maintain work area and equipment before and after shifts. Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor. Help with routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and cleaning of the machine. Organize and stage materials for upcoming jobs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic understanding of shop math and measurement tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers). Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Willingness to learn and follow instructions. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Previous experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment is a plus.
