Job Description

The Assembly Lead Associate is responsible for assembling railing systems while overseeing daily production on the floor. This role is hands-on and responsible for making sure the team is building product correctly, safely, and on schedule. You will guide the team, troubleshoot issues, and hold the line on quality and output.

Assembly & Production Execution Assemble railing systems and components based on shop drawings, work orders, and standard build processes Read and interpret measurements, layouts, and diagrams to ensure proper fit and alignment Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to complete assemblies Support complex builds and step in on critical pieces when needed Maintain a steady workflow to consistently achieve daily and weekly production goals Team Leadership & Floor Support Lead a team of assembly associates during daily production Assign work based on priority, workload, and skill level Monitor progress throughout the shift and adjust as needed to stay on schedule Train new hires on tools, processes, and expectations Act as the first point of escalation for questions, issues Quality Control & Accountability Inspect assemblies throughout the process not just at the end Ensure all products meet VIVA quality standards, tolerances, and specs Prevent rework by reinforcing proper build methods and attention to detail Hold team accountable for quality and consistency Communicate recurring issues to supervisor for further action Production Coordination Work closely with the production manager and other leads. Ensure jobs are moving through the line in the correct sequence Verify materials, parts, and hardware are available before starting work Communicate delays or material shortages early Safety & Work Environment Enforce all shop safety rules and PPE requirements Lead by example with safe work practices at all times Ensure tools and equipment are used properly and stored correctly Inventory & Material Handling Monitor usage of materials, hardware, and consumables during production Report low stock or missing items to supervisor or inventory team Support cycle counts or physical inventory when needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years of assembly or manufacturing experience required (Metal fabrication shop perferred Prior lead, trainer, or senior-level experience strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Experience using measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, and angle meters) Ability to interpret blueprints for components and assemblies Forklift driving experience (highly preferred) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. !
