POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining operational technology (OT) focused systems in the manufacturing environment to ensure reliable plant-floor operations, accurate production data collection, and stable manufacturing system performance. This role provides day-to-day troubleshooting and support for MES, SCADA, production hardware, and related IT/OT infrastructure with an immediate focus on stabilizing the batch execution system. The position works closely with production, maintenance, vendors, and IT teams to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the IT Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide first-line support and troubleshooting for IT/OT systems including MES, SCADA, production hardware, and plant floor devices across manufacturing facilities. Own the stability and performance of the batch execution system, including vendor coordination, preventative maintenance, and system documentation. Ensure accurate production data collection by monitoring batch records, reporting systems, and IT/OT data pipelines. Partner with production operators, supervisors, maintenance, and IT teams to identify system issues, close operational gaps, and improve plant floor efficiency. Manage OT vendor relationships including service requests, escalations, patches, and repairs. Support the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of future MES and IT/OT system initiatives. Develop and maintain documentation including system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and operator training materials. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 1
to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing, IT/OT, or industrial environment preferred. Hands-on exposure to MES, SCADA, batch management systems, or related technologies such as Ignition or industrial networking preferred. Basic familiarity with scripting (in any language), SQL, or automation tools is a plus; a willingness to develop these skills is expected. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technical systems quickly, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates professionalism and a strong sense of ownership over their work. Travel up to 10% to our Mount Vernon, IL manufacturing site.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods while troubleshooting systems and supporting operations. This role operates in a manufacturing facility without climate control, meaning exposure to varying temperatures based on seasonal conditions. Requires regular time on the production floor working alongside operators and manufacturing equipment. Able to withstand moderate physical activity including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working on the production floor. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
