Job Title:
Production Lead - 3rd Shift Job Description The Production Lead - 3rd Shift operates and oversees multiple pieces of production line equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role leads the assembly and disassembly of production line equipment, supports basic labor arrangement on food production lines under the direction of supervisors and managers, and ensures that safety, quality, and production procedures are consistently followed. The Production Lead also documents key production information and provides on-the-job training and guidance to production line employees. Responsibilities Operate multiple pieces of production line equipment across different areas of the facility during the assigned shift. Lead the assembly and disassembly of production line equipment to support changeovers, cleaning, and maintenance activities. Arrange and coordinate basic labor assignments on food production lines under the direction of supervisors and managers. Document production downtime, machine setting changes, and materials used during each production run accurately and in a timely manner. Train production line employees on proper equipment operation, safety practices, and production procedures. Explain tasks clearly and answer questions from production line employees to ensure understanding and consistent performance. Communicate effectively with various levels of leadership, including supervisors and managers, to report issues, progress, and needs on the line. Follow all company procedures related to safety, quality, and production standards. Support a fast-paced production environment by responding quickly to issues and helping maintain continuous line operation. Provide day-to-day leadership for a team of production workers, helping to guide their work and maintain productivity. Assist in ensuring that production goals and schedules for the shift are met or exceeded. Essential Skills At least 2 years of manufacturing production experience within a food manufacturing environment. Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. At least 6 months of experience in a leadership role such as team lead or line lead, supervising approximately 10-30 employees. Ability to operate multiple pieces of production line equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to document downtime, machine setting changes, and materials used during production runs. Ability to train, explain, and answer questions regarding production line work for production line employees. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with various levels of leadership. Ability to follow established company procedures for safety, quality, and production. Previous food industry experience (strongly preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, supervision, or production management. Experience in general production roles within manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate production supervision activities. Comfort working with multiple production lines and adapting to different equipment and tasks. Why Work Here? The environment involves operating and being around production machinery, assembling and disassembling equipment, and working closely with a team of production employees and supervisors. The position requires being on your feet for extended periods and working in a structured, process-driven setting where accurate documentation and clear communication are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
