1st, 2nd, and 3rdPOSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Team Leader - Production is responsible for assisting the Production Team Leader in coordinating the activities for workers engaged in the production process. This includes but is not limited to ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining quality control, and implementing employee safety protocols. The Assistant Team Leader plays a pivotal role in supervising bargaining members, fostering a productive and safe work environment, driving continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills, leadership, knowledge of the plant's operations, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams across the operation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to production schedules. Coordinate and assist the supervision of work assigned to the hourly bargaining members. Ensure compliance with the company's employee safety standards and regulations. Monitor production processes to ensure efficient workflow. Conduct regular inspections to maintain food safety and finished product specifications compliance. Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve direct labor utilization. Resolve production issues and coordinate the troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions. Maintain employee time and attendance records as well as support the accuracy of other production-related data. Provide training / development for production staff and as needed utilize the company's progressive discipline protocol with poor performing personnel. Collaborate with other department staff to optimize the financial performance of the business. Provides input on the evaluation of employee performance. Communicate and enforce company-wide policies and programs. Perform all duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Prior experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Food Processing experience is preferred. Proficiency in production management software and tools. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong leadership and team motivational abilities. Effective Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards. High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training preferred. Ability to learn advanced production processes and equipment.
