Job Description
About the Role As a Semiconductor Field Service Technician, you will serve as a critical technical partner, ensuring the peak performance and reliability of complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and electrical systems to minimize downtime and drive operational excellence for our clients. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance, system start-ups, and unscheduled repairs to ensure maximum tool availability. Diagnose complex mechanical, hardware, and software failures by interpreting technical schematics and utilizing advanced diagnostic protocols. Provide expert technical guidance to clients, serving as the primary point of contact for system-related inquiries and operational support. Optimize repair strategies to deliver cost-effective solutions that reduce customer downtime and improve throughput. Manage inventory and supply chain logistics by identifying and expediting necessary replacement components. Mentor junior technicians and provide leadership on complex service projects to elevate team technical capabilities. Maintain rigorous compliance with safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and site-specific environmental protocols. Document all service activities, system performance metrics, and maintenance history to ensure accurate reporting and data-driven decision-making. Qualifications Required Skills Associate degree in Electronics or an equivalent combination of technical training and field experience. Strong proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting 120/208/240/480 voltage systems. Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical systems, mechanical component repair, and equipment diagnostics. Proven ability to work independently in high-pressure manufacturing environments. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on maintaining strong customer relationships. Preferred Skills 6-10 years of hands-on experience within the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry. Technical familiarity with vacuum technology and semiconductor processing equipment. Practical experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Background in industrial robot programming or automated system maintenance.
