You will be instrumental in resolving technical challenges, managing equipment changeovers, documenting production metrics, and fostering a tidy, well-structured workspace. Core Responsibilities Execute or assist with product changeovers to ensure seamless transitions. Resolve mechanical issues promptly to help the team reach consistent production output and quality goals. Adjust machine settings and controls to optimize performance across all operational stages. Provide guidance to feeders and packers on best practices to maintain high-speed production efficiency. Swap out machine parts, such as belts, according to scheduled maintenance or as needed during failures. Coordinate with technical staff and incoming shifts to ensure critical operational information is effectively communicated. Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides to improve consistency. Support the functionality of tape machines by monitoring performance and clearing obstructions. Organize the parts inventory area to ensure efficient access to necessary components. Collaborate with material handlers to ensure the team is fully supplied with raw materials and resources. Perform additional tasks as required by management. Documentation and Reporting Log scrap materials accurately within the SAP system. Support the team by coding downtime reasons in MII. Complete all necessary production forms and documentation as required. Report machine performance and production status to supervisors and management. Maintenance and Housekeeping Keep all production supplies and materials organized within the work zone. Perform regular sanitation and cleaning duties to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required; trade school education is a plus. At least 3 years of relevant experience or a background in fast-paced multitasking, including 6 months of machine operation; paper packaging experience is preferred. Demonstrate proficiency in the effective use of various hand tools. Possess the ability to interpret and follow safety guidelines, quality protocols, and operating procedures. Communicate production challenges clearly to supervisors and colleagues. Apply basic mathematical skills, including counting, to daily tasks. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields, with additional PPE provided for specific tasks. Please note that our manufacturing facility is not climate-controlled, meaning temperatures and humidity levels will fluctuate seasonally. The role demands frequent use of arms and hands for grasping and moving materials, involving repetitive motions and reaching in various directions. You will spend significant time standing, with regular requirements to bend, twist, and stoop while moving throughout the facility. Occasional physical tasks include lifting items up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling equipment, and climbing stairs. Visual requirements include depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to maintain focus at varying distances.
