Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Production Associate making corn tortillas. Your energy and mechanical aptitude will drive the creation of Vermont's best tortillas. In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for preparing masa, cooking and packaging tortillas in a manufacturing environment.
Duties Cook and Masa Preparation:
Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw ingredients (corn, water, and additives) according to precise company recipes.
Machine Operation:
Safely operate automatic and manual tortilla-making equipment, including cook tanks, girders, mixers, cutters, and conveyor ovens.
Quality Control:
Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and dough consistency. Visually and physically inspect tortillas for desired thickness, color, texture, and taste.
Packaging & Inventory:
Package finished tortillas, apply labels, and record production numbers. Monitor ingredient levels and notify supervisors when supplies run low.
Sanitation:
Disassemble, clean, and sanitize machinery, cooking vats, and work surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment compliant with health codes. Prepare materials for production runs, including loading, unloading, and organizing inventory in the warehouse Follow safety protocols diligently while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the manufacturing environment Support team members in meeting daily production goals through active participation in manufacturing processes
Qualifications:
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Prior experience working in a factory or manufacturing facility is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and comfort using hand tools and power tools Warehouse experience is a plus, especially involving material handling and inventory management Ability to work well in a team Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks throughout shifts Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, daytime, 7:30-8:00am start with end times typically between 2 and 4pm. Open to job sharing or part time if it works with the production needs. Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork orientation are critical to success in this role.
