Job Title:
Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker operates manufacturing equipment, supports general production tasks, and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and organized production floor. This role involves operating machines, performing manual handling of materials, and working on your feet for extended periods while meeting quality and productivity standards. Responsibilities Operate production and machine equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures. Lift and move materials weighing up to 40-50 pounds throughout the shift. Stand and remain physically active on the production floor for up to 10 hours per day. Use a measuring tape accurately to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. Perform general labor and general production tasks as directed by supervisors. Assist with basic mechanical tasks and troubleshooting within the scope of a production role. Follow all safety rules, including the use of required steel or composite toe footwear and other protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area on the production floor. Support forklift operations if qualified and assigned, including safe movement of materials and finished products. Participate in training on the day shift (Monday-Thursday, 5:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.) and transition to the assigned shift upon completion. Work the assigned schedule, which may include Thursday-Sunday, 5:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m., or Monday-Thursday, 5:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m., depending on shift placement. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain consistent output. Interact professionally with customers who visit the facility, providing basic assistance or direction as needed. Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to the appropriate personnel promptly. Essential Skills Previous machine operation or production experience. Ability to lift and carry 40-50 pounds repeatedly during a 10-hour shift. Ability to stand and perform physical work for up to 10 hours per day. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machinery. Ability to read and use a measuring tape accurately. Reliable transportation to and from the worksite. Willingness to work evening or overnight hours as part of a structured shift schedule. Strong team orientation and willingness to support coworkers. Ability to communicate politely and clearly with customers who stop by the facility. Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required protective footwear (steel or composite toe shoes). Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience or familiarity with forklift operations. Experience in general labor or general production roles. Interest in learning higher-level machine operating skills and growing within a production environment. Positive attitude and willingness to adapt as the company expands into a three-shift operation. Work Environment The role is based on an organized production floor with clearly defined work areas and processes. You work around active machinery, materials, and equipment, including forklifts where applicable. The schedule supports a three-shift operation, with most new team members training on Monday-Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. before transitioning to their long-term shift, which may be Thursday-Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. or remain Monday-Thursday on the same hours. The work involves standing, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Steel or composite toe shoes are required as part of the safety-focused dress code, and additional protective equipment may be provided as needed to maintain a safe, efficient workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Puyallup, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
