Job Description

Job Description We are a small, family-owned hemp processing company seeking a detail-oriented and curious Lab & Production Assistant to support our extraction/purification operations and preparation/processing of biomass. This role will span the full process from shredding dried material to operating and monitoring laboratory equipment used to purify hemp-derived concentrates. The ideal candidate is reliable, methodical, maintains a clean workspace and enjoys problem-solving in a hands-on laboratory environment. Success in this role depends on attentiveness, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple pieces of equipment operating simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Shred and weigh flower for extraction Load and unload biomass into extraction equipment Monitor, maintain and operate shredder and extraction equipment Operate and monitor rotary evaporators (rotovaps) and chromatography columns Assist with purification of hemp concentrates using multiple extraction solvents Manage, balance, and adjust equipment parameters throughout the day to ensure proper operation Observe processes closely and identify issues or deviations from expected performance Accurately document procedures, observations, and production data Follow all SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace Support the extraction team with other duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures Comfortable working in a laboratory setting and handling solvents (training provided) Ability to think critically and manage processes over extended periods Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently once trained Must be 21+ and able to pass background checks Preferred Skills (Not Required) Interest in chemistry, lab work, or process engineering Basic mechanical or technical aptitude Prior lab, manufacturing, or production experience Job Type Full-time In-person Education High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
