Sign Shop Graphic Designer & Production Associate

Signarama Lacey - Lacey, WA Full-time | Monday-Friday | In-person About Us Signarama Lacey is a locally owned sign and graphics company serving businesses, organizations, schools, contractors, and community partners throughout the South Sound. We produce a wide variety of custom signs, banners, window graphics, vehicle graphics, dimensional lettering, building signs, displays, and other visual communication products. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Graphic Designer / Sign Production Specialist who can help turn customer ideas into accurate, attractive, production-ready signs and graphics. This is not a remote design position. This is a hands-on role in a working sign shop where design, production, customer service, and teamwork all come together. Position Summary The Graphic Designer / Sign Production Specialist is responsible for creating customer proofs, preparing production-ready artwork, and assisting with the production of signs and graphics. The right person will be comfortable working in Adobe Illustrator, communicating with the team, handling multiple jobs at once, and helping produce finished products in the shop. This role works closely with sales, production, and installation staff to make sure jobs are accurate, attractive, and completed efficiently. Key Responsibilities Graphic Design & File Preparation Create customer proofs, layouts, and mockups for signs, banners, window graphics, vehicle graphics, and related products. Prepare production-ready files for printing, cutting, routing, and installation. Set up artwork with proper scale, bleeds, margins, cut lines, colors, and file structure. Review customer-supplied artwork and identify issues with resolution, file quality, fonts, colors, or production limitations. Make revisions accurately and efficiently based on customer or internal feedback. Maintain organized digital files and job folders. Sign Production Support Assist with printing, laminating, trimming, weeding vinyl, masking, mounting, and finishing signs. Help prepare materials for installation and customer pickup. Perform quality checks before jobs move to installation or delivery. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Learn and follow shop production standards and procedures. Team Communication Use Corebridge or internal systems to review job notes, update job status, and track project details. Communicate clearly with sales, production, and installation staff. Ask questions when job details are unclear instead of guessing. Help maintain a smooth workflow from proofing through production. Qualifications Required Experience with Adobe Illustrator . Strong attention to detail, especially spelling, measurements, layout, and file accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to learn sign production processes and equipment. Preferred Previous experience in a sign shop, print shop, wrap shop, screen printing, wide-format printing, or similar production environment. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat. Experience preparing files for vinyl cutting, wide-format printing, or CNC/routing. Familiarity with vehicle graphics, window graphics, banners, dimensional signs, ADA signs, or routed signs. Experience using a CRM, job management system, or production workflow software. Basic knowledge of materials such as vinyl, acrylic, aluminum composite, PVC, coroplast, banner material, and laminates. Ideal Candidate The ideal person for this role is creative but practical.
