1/5/2023 New Job Revised Job Summary The Trimmer uses hand tools or hand-held power tools to cut and trim a variety of manufactured composite parts. Level I Entry/Junior level individual contributor, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles. Requires little or no prior experience and no more than a few months of training that is often received while on the job. Has little or no autonomy and works under close supervision. Achieves competency with skills assigned to this level over time.
Essential Functions:
Essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Tasks Trim and deburr fabricated components using pneumatic power tools. Sign off on all work performed, reporting all production discrepancies and schedule concerns to supervisor. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment or supplies; promoting safety in the workplace. Supervisory Responsibility None Provide direction to other individuals. Supervises, hires, trains, provides work direction and problem-solving assistance. Oversees the daily operations of other staff, including scheduling and assigning work. Manage performance, salary, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations. Required Qualifications Ability to read and understand detailed instructions. Excellent eye and hand coordination. Skilled in the use of pneumatic router and drills motors. Ability to utilize measuring equipment, including scales and calipers. Excellent interpersonal skills. Basic math skills. Preferred Qualifications None Education High School Diploma or GED preferred. Composite training preferred. Experience One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred. Composite manufacturing experience preferred. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Additional Eligibility Qualifications None Computer Skills Basic computer skills. Working Conditions While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature-controlled. Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Exposure to hazardous equipment. Exposure to contaminants. Shared workspaces with other employees. Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs. Lifting pushing, pulling, and bending. Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime). Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.
