Full Job Description Overview:
Green Lake Jewelry Works creates one-of-a-kind custom bridal jewelry and provides expert restoration services in a collaborative studio environment. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Production Assistant to help support the flow of all jewelry projects through our workshop. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment, communicates clearly across departments, and enjoys solving problems while keeping many moving parts organized and accurate. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every custom and repair piece moves smoothly through production - from ordering components and assigning due dates to quality checking finished work and coordinating customer pickups. Jewelry industry experience is preferred, but we are ultimately looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and exceptionally detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and track jewelry jobs through all stages of production Assign and manage production due dates Order findings, gemstones, and production materials Match incoming parts and materials to the correct jobs Perform detailed quality checks on jewelry throughout production Return jobs to jewelers with clear communication regarding needed corrections or adjustments Invoice completed jobs accurately with strong attention to detail Contact customers regarding completed orders and pickups Communicate effectively between jewelers, designers, sales staff, and other departments Maintain inventory of diamond melee, metals, findings, and shop supplies Monitor stock levels of packaging, cleaners, and general production materials and replenish as needed Help identify workflow issues and assist in keeping production moving efficiently
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to retain and apply small details across many projects simultaneously Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple departments and personalities Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think quickly and adapt Jewelry industry or luxury product experience preferred Experience with production coordination, inventory management, or operations support is a plus
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally notices the small details others miss, enjoys creating order in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in keeping projects accurate and on schedule. They are dependable, communicative, and able to balance urgency with precision.
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday (this may shift slightly as you get onboarded, but you'll need to be available at least one weekend day each week) Full-time, 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
