Job Description

This isn't a typical CAD job. If you want to sit quietly at a desk all day, this isn't the role for you. If you want to be hands-on, learn industrial equipment, work closely with a shop floor team, and grow into a highly skilled specialist — read on. Alcobra Metals is a leading supplier of non-ferrous metals in the Pacific Northwest, serving manufacturing companies across the region with materials including aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, titanium, and more. We're hiring a CAD Programmer & Production Specialist at our north Spokane production warehouse. What You'll Do Program and operate drafting and nesting software including SigmaNest, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and others Import, redraw, and nest parts into CAD and nesting software with maximum efficiency Collaborate with shop staff to optimize nesting and workflow processes Manage completed programs, nests, and files for future retrieval Review work orders for clarity and help resolve questions as they arise Interface with customers by phone, email, and in person to answer questions and provide information Learn the setup and operation of shop floor machines to better understand and improve production workflow What This Position Is NOT This is NOT a job where you sit at a desk all day without talking to anyone. You'll be responding to emails, answering calls, attending meetings, and interacting with customers. This is NOT a job where you exclusively create 2D CAD drawings. You'll learn the ins and outs of each machine on the floor and how to set them up and operate them. This is NOT a job that permits workflow shortcuts. Strict QC processes are expected, and your input on improving them is welcomed. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Ability to read and interpret customer-supplied drawings Understanding of geometric tolerances Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality A collaborative, team-first attitude CAD software experience preferred — but the right attitude and aptitude matter most Pay & Benefits $21.00
